Scope and Aim

The journal publishes high-quality, peer-reviewed research across a broad spectrum of basic and applied sciences, including but not limited to biology, chemistry, physics, environmental science, and interdisciplinary fields.

This journal welcomes original research articles from diverse fields, including- Agricultural Sciences, Agronomy and Horticulture, Applied Phycology and Bryology, Biodiversity and Conservation management, Biophysics/ Applied Physics, Biostatistics/ Applied Statistics , Fisheries science, Forest ecology and Biotechnology, Marine Plant Research, Pharmacognosy and Phytochemistry, Physical Sciences and Geography, Plant Pathology/Microbial Diversity, Plant Physiology and Natural Chemistry, Plant Sciences and Phytology, Plant Taxonomy/ Nomenclature/ Plants Systematics, Pollinating Insect-Biology, Pollinator biodiversity and Reproductive Biology Traditional Knowledge

Peer Review Policy

All manuscripts submitted to the Himalayan Journal of Basic and Applied Sciences undergo a double-blind peer review process. Each manuscript is evaluated by at least two independent experts. To ensure impartiality, both reviewers and authors remain anonymous throughout the review. The editorial team makes the final decision based on the reviewers’ recommendations.

Ethical Guidelines

Authors must adhere to the highest standards of research and publication ethics. Any form of plagiarism, data fabrication, or falsification will lead to immediate rejection. Studies involving human or animal subjects must include appropriate ethical approval.

Authorship Criteria

  • All listed authors must have made significant contributions to the research.
  • Any changes in authorship (addition or removal) after submission must be approved by all authors and justified in writing.
  • Ghost authorship or honorary authorship is strictly prohibited.

Conflict of Interest

Authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could influence the work or its evaluation.

These disclosures should be included in the manuscript or communicated during the submission process.

Plagiarism Policy

All submissions are screened using plagiarism detection software.

A similarity index exceeding the acceptable threshold (e.g., 10–12%) without proper citation may lead to rejection or desk screening.

Open Access Policy

The journal is open access. All articles are freely accessible online upon publication.

Authors retain copyright under a Creative Commons license (CC BY or equivalent).

Article Processing Charges (APC)

  • The Himalayan Journal of Basic and Applied Sciences charges a nominal Article Processing Charge (APC) to cover publication, peer review management, and indexing costs.
  • Fee waivers or discounts may be granted under specific circumstances, such as for authors from low-income or developing countries, or in cases of demonstrated financial hardship.
  • Requests for APC waivers must be submitted at the time of manuscript submission. Late requests will not be considered.

Retraction & Correction Policy

  • The journal reserves the right to retract or correct published articles if significant errors, ethical breaches, or academic misconduct are discovered post-publication.
  • A clear notice will be issued for any retractions or corrections.

Licensing and Copyright

  • Authors retain copyright and grant the journal the right to publish.
  • Articles are published under a Creative Commons license that permits sharing and reuse with proper attribution.
