Peer Review Policy

All manuscripts submitted to the Himalayan Journal of Basic and Applied Sciences undergo a double-blind peer review process.

  • Each manuscript is evaluated by at least two independent subject experts.
  • Both reviewers and authors remain anonymous throughout the review to ensure impartiality.

Ethical Guidelines

  • Authors must adhere to the highest standards of research and publication ethics.
  • Any form of plagiarism, data fabrication, or falsification will lead to immediate rejection.
  • Studies involving human or animal subjects must include appropriate ethical approval and follow relevant institutional or national guidelines.

Authorship Criteria

  • All listed authors must have made a significant intellectual, experimental, or analytical contribution to the work.
  • Changes in authorship (addition or removal) after submission must be justified in writing and approved by all authors.
  • Ghost authorship and honorary or guest authorship are strictly prohibited.

Conflict of Interest

  • Authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could influence the work or its evaluation.
  • Relevant disclosures should be included in the manuscript or communicated during the submission and review process.

Plagiarism & Open Access

Plagiarism Policy

  • All submissions are screened using plagiarism detection software.
  • A similarity index exceeding the acceptable threshold (typically 10–12%) without proper citation may result in desk rejection or return to authors for revision.

Open Access Policy

  • The journal is fully open access: all articles are freely available online upon publication.

APC, Retraction & Copyright

Article Processing Charges (APC)

  • The journal charges a nominal Article Processing Charge to cover editorial management, peer review coordination, production, and indexing.
  • Fee waivers or discounts may be granted under specific circumstances, such as for authors from low-income or developing countries or in cases of demonstrated financial hardship.
  • Requests for APC waivers must be submitted at the time of manuscript submission; late requests will not be considered.

Retraction & Correction Policy

  • The journal reserves the right to retract or correct published articles if significant errors, ethical breaches, or academic misconduct are identified after publication.
  • A clear and transparent notice is issued for all retractions or substantial corrections.

Licensing & Copyright

  • Authors retain copyright and grant the journal the right to publish the work.
