Submission Guidelines

Authors are requested to carefully follow these instructions to ensure smooth processing of manuscripts. Non-compliance may lead to delays or return of the manuscript for revision before peer review.

Preparation for Manuscript Submission

Core requirements that must be fulfilled before a manuscript is submitted to the journal.

  • The manuscript is original, has not been published previously, and is not currently under consideration for publication elsewhere.
  • The manuscript has been prepared and uploaded in accordance with the formatting requirements of the Himalayan Journal of Basic and Applied Sciences.
  • The corresponding author takes responsibility for the submission, confirms that all co-authors have approved the final manuscript, and manages all communication with the editorial team.
  • Submissions must be original, unpublished, and not under review in any other journal or publication outlet.

Basic Submission Requirements

  • Manuscripts must be written in English.
  • There must be one clearly designated corresponding author, with full contact details (email and institutional affiliation) included in the manuscript.
  • Submissions must be original, unpublished, and not under review elsewhere at the time of submission.

Referencing Style: APA 7th Edition

The journal adheres to the American Psychological Association (APA) 7th edition referencing style.

General Rules

  • Use APA 7th edition referencing style for all citations and references.
  • Arrange references alphabetically by the surname of the first author.
  • In-text citations follow the author–date system: (Author, Year).
  • For two authors, cite both names: (Author & Author, Year).
  • For three or more authors, cite the first author followed by et al.: (Author et al., Year).
  • Use hanging indentation in the reference list (second and subsequent lines indented).

Formatting Notes

  • Use italics for journal titles, book titles, and volume numbers in the reference list.
  • Journal issue numbers should be in round brackets immediately after the volume number and should not be italicised.
  • Always provide a DOI or URL where available, formatted according to APA 7th guidelines.
  • Ensure consistency in punctuation, spacing, and capitalisation across all references and in-text citations.
